Houses

Houses are the twelve sectors of the chart that describe areas of life: body, money, speech, home, creativity, work, relationships, and more.

How to read them in a chart

A house answers the question "where does this happen?" The planet describes a function, the sign describes style, and the house describes the life area. Venus may speak about love, taste, and value, but in the second house it often appears through money and self-worth, while in the seventh it appears through relationships and agreements.

If a house has no planets, it is not empty or inactive. Read the sign on the cusp and the ruler of that sign. The ruler shows how that house finds expression elsewhere in the chart.

Common mistake

A common mistake is to memorize houses as flat topics. The second house is not only money; it is also value and embodiment. The tenth is not only career; it is visible role. The eighth is not only crisis; it is trust, power, and shared resources.

A house becomes useful when you connect it with a real scene of life, not only a table of keywords.
