How to read it in a chart

The IC is not only home in the practical sense. It is the most private root of the chart: origin, emotional ground, family memory, and the place a person returns to when the public role is removed.

Read the sign on the IC, its ruler, and any planets close to it. The Moon near the IC emphasizes family and memory, Saturn can point to early responsibility or coldness at the root, and Uranus can describe instability, moves, or the need to build home on one's own terms.

Common mistake

Do not reduce the IC to parents or real estate. Sometimes it describes the inner place where a person feels at home. Sometimes it shows where one must build a new foundation instead of repeating an inherited pattern.

In forecasting, IC activation often coincides with family, housing, privacy, endings, and the need to return to basic emotional needs.
