Secondary progressions

Secondary progressions are a symbolic forecasting method based on the day-for-a-year principle. They are useful for inner maturation and shifts in life phases.

How to read them in a chart

Secondary progressions describe the inner climate of development. They are usually less loud than transits, but they show changes in readiness: what has matured, what the person has emotionally reached, and which part of the natal chart is beginning to work differently.

The progressed Moon is especially important, including its sign changes, house changes, and exact aspects to natal points. Also watch progressed planets changing sign or direction. These moments often describe an inner turn before an outer event becomes visible.

Common mistake

The mistake is to expect progressions to produce instant events. A progression may work quietly through changed taste, emotional focus, inner permission, or timing. Events are more likely when a progression coincides with a strong transit.

A useful question for progressions is: what has already grown inside me, even if life still looks the same from the outside?
